Blacksmithing 1–450: leveling up (WotLK)

How to upgrade your blacksmithing from 1 to 450 on WotLK 3.3.5a: ore and ingots by segments, what to forge, and where to get special recipes.

Briefly

The blacksmith makes weapons, armor, shields, and at 440+ - Eternal Belt Buckle, weapon stones. One of the most expensive professions: you need a lot of ore, it is better to combine it with Mining.

Materials

  • Copper Ore/Bar (Copper Ore/Ingot) - 1–90
  • Tin (Tin), Bronze (Bronze = Copper+Tin) - 65–150
  • Silver (Silver), Iron (Iron) - 130–200
  • Gold (Gold), Mithril (Mithril) - 190–260
  • Thorium (Thorium) - 250–300
  • Fel Iron (Fel Iron), Adamantite (Adamantite) - 300–375
  • Cobalt (Cobalt), Saronite (Saronite), Titanium (Titanium) - 375–450

Pumping by segments

1–90

  • Rough/Silvered Sharpen Stone, Rough Grinding Stone - we sharpen stones from copper.

90–150

  • Rough Bronze Leggings, Bronze Battle Ax - bronze.

150–200

  • Iron - Green Iron Leggings/Shoulders, Golden Scale items.

200–260

  • Mithril - Heavy Mithril items, Ornate Mithril.

260–300

  • Thorium - Imperial Plate set, Thorium "forks".

300–375

  • Fel Iron Plate set, Adamantite set, Enchanted Thorium rework.

375–450

  • Cobalt set and Durable/Cobalt weapons, Saronite set, Titanium items (the last 25 are from titanium recipes).

Tips

  • Definitely in conjunction with Mining - smelting ore yourself is half the price.
  • At 400+, keep a stock of Eternal Earth/Fire/Shadow - they go into the “eternal” linings.
  • Specialization (Armorsmith/Weaponsmith) choose according to what you will wear/sell.

Summary

Blacksmithing is about capital and ore. With a supply of 1–450 bars, it goes through in one evening.
