PvE guide for Druid “Power of the Beast” in WoW Mists of Pandaria Classic 5.5.0

In Mists of Pandaria, Feral is a melee specialization. Previously, druids who chose this specialization had access to the roles of fighter and tank simultaneously. Now they can deal damage in Cat Form, losing the ability to back up tanks. However, the Feral gear set also fits the Guardian, allowing players to switch between specializations without much difficulty. In this guide you will find a detailed guide to Feral Druid in WoW MoP Classic.

1. Advantages and disadvantages of Feral Druid in 5.5.0
Representatives of the "Power of the Beast" specialization are capable of inflicting competitive damage, especially if they have the Rune of Redistribution from the Throne of Thunder. The specialization is considered one of the most difficult, as it has access to two different types of resources - combo points and energy. At the same time, druids perform excellently when leveling up and when exploring the open world, including alone.
Benefits:
- Great potential for causing damage to any number of targets, especially with the Redistribution Rune;
- High durability thanks to Survival Instincts, Barkskin and defensive skills used in Bear Form;
- Effective support abilities: Roar of Alarm, Revival and Innervate.
Disadvantages:
- Can no longer play the role of a secondary tank, all tank abilities have moved to the new Guardian specialization;
- To deal damage, you must be behind the target (for Shred); in some battles (for example, on Sinestra), this requirement is impossible to fulfill;
- Requires good gaming skills, ability to manage energy/period effects and fill global cooldowns.
2. Best Races for Feral Druid in WoW MoP Classic
Trolls are considered the best race for the Horde thanks to Berserk and Animal Killing, the tauren have nothing like that.
In the Alliance, worgen have an advantage over night elves thanks to Lightness of Darkness and Bitterness.
3. Best Jobs for Feral Druid in Mists of Pandaria Classic
- Engineering is considered the best profession for PvE. It gives access to additional reinforcement (Neural Springs) and a bonus to movement speed (Nitro Boosters).
- Tailoring is another profitable profession for PvE. It allows you to make Embroidery in the form of a sword handle. This effect is less controllable than Neural Spring, but has an internal cooldown and therefore works quite predictably, allowing you to stack bonuses to attack power at the moments when you need them.
4. PvE builds and talents for Druid “Power of the Beast” in WoW 5.5.0
In the Mists of Pandaria expansion, the talent system has been redesigned - the tree has been reduced to the most powerful and influential talents, intended for different game situations.
Build for Feral Druid in Mists of Pandaria Classic
In Mists of Pandaria, new talents are unlocked every 15 levels, starting at level 15. All talents in one row correspond to a specific theme and are approximately equal in strength; the choice depends on the circumstances and mechanics of the battle.
Talents by level
Level 15 Talents
This case contains talents for fast movement.
- Cat speed gives a direct increase in movement speed (+15%), used in the open world, when leveling up and in dungeons.
- Astral Surge moves the character 20m forward, similar to Flash, and automatically casts Cat Form. Astral Surge has a long cooldown, but is considered the best option since it works instantly and allows you to overcome some obstacles.
- Swift Charge grants the ability of the same name with a cooldown of 15 seconds. Moves the character behind the target, which is very convenient for Shredding. In some situations, Charge Dash moves the character into a disadvantageous position or a deadly area.
Level 30 Talents
Talents in this tier provide additional opportunities for self-healing or neutralizing constant damage.
- Ysera's Gift restores Feral to 5% of her maximum health every 5 seconds. If the druid is healthy, the effect triggers on the nearest wounded ally. Not a bad, but not very effective option.
- The update restores 30% of your maximum health and can be used once every 2 minutes. Used for emergency healing, the amount of health restored is too low for such a long cooldown.
- Shield of Cenarius places a shield on an allied target that activates from a direct attack and restores a large amount of health over 6 seconds. Can be used once every 30 seconds when playing alone or to help tanks. Don't forget that you need to take direct damage to activate.
Level 45 Talents
This tier contains talents designed to control opponents. All of them are situational, they need to be changed depending on the characteristics of the battle.
- Magic Swarm, when using Magic Fire, slows down affected targets by 50%, the slow lasts 15 seconds. This talent can be useful when playing alone, but in such cases Infected Wounds are more suitable for slowing down.
- Mass entanglement chains enemies in place for 20 seconds, can be used once every 30 seconds. This is a unique ability available only to Druids. It is considered situational, but is often used in boss fights that summon a large number of dangerous minions.
- Typhoon knocks back enemies in front of the caster and slows them down for 6 seconds. Can be used once every 30 seconds. The knockback interrupts enemy spells, but allies should be warned about it in advance, otherwise the group will lose some damage.
Level 60 Talents
Talents in this tier increase Feral's damage output with additional energy.
- The Soul of the Forest works passively and replenishes energy when using finishing techniques. Considered the best option in the vast majority of cases.
- Incarnation allows you to use Prowl and skills that require Stealth (such as Pounce) without costing resources for 30 seconds every 3 minutes. It is used in battles where suitable timers are in effect, in other cases it is inferior to alternative options.
- Force of Nature has three charges, each of which recharges over 20 seconds. Summons an Ancient ally that deals damage and roots enemies in place for 15 seconds. This talent is considered the best in terms of single target damage if you can combine it with accessories, potions and other temporary buffs.
Level 75 Talents
This tier contains talents designed to control opponents.
- Disorienting Roar disorients nearby enemies for 3 seconds, cooldown 30 seconds. It has a short cooldown and has no side effects. Use it to interrupt spells in groups if the targets are close to each other.
- Ursol's Vortex is an extremely interesting talent that creates a zone on the ground that slows down opponents and pulls them towards the epicenter when they try to leave the zone for the first time. The zone lasts for 10 seconds, the ability has a 60 second cooldown and combines well with Typhoon (Whirlwind prevents enemies from scattering after being knocked back or groups them so that they all fly in one direction).
- Powerful Stun stuns one target for 5 seconds, can be used once every 50 seconds. The ability can be useful in a single game, but when playing in a group it will be better to use the stun abilities available to other classes.
Level 90 Talents
The last tier contains talents that allow the character to perform his role more effectively or temporarily switch to other roles.
- Heart of the Wild increases stamina, agility, and intelligence by 6% and is permanent. The active component increases the effectiveness of actions associated with other roles for 45 seconds. "Power of the Beast" gains the ability to tank in Bear Form and cast powerful healing spells.
- Cenarius' Dream increases healing from Healing Touch by 20%, and after using Healing Touch, increases damage from the next two attacks by 30%. With the help of Cenarius's Dream, you can strengthen Rip, Deep Wound, and other bleeds. This is the best talent in the tier, allowing you to use Healing Touch in Cat Form at the expense of Predator's Swiftness.
- Natural sensitivity increases damage dealt and healing done by 12%, lasts 30 seconds. While under the effect, healing spells deal damage to nearby enemies for 20% of the healing, and damage spells heal nearby allies for 25% of the damage. The ability has a 90 second cooldown, use it to support your allies in dangerous moments.
5. Best Symbols for Feral Druid in Mists of Pandaria 5.5.0
In the Mists of Pandaria expansion, symbols are divided into two types: large and small. Large glyphs change the mechanics of abilities and directly affect performance, small glyphs are mostly cosmetic or improve non-combat spells.
Large characters
Not all of the listed symbols affect damage, but we recommend using them for convenience.
- Glyph of Ferocity - Wild Roar can be used without combo points, in which case it lasts 12 seconds. In terms of damage, the symbol is not very effective, but it allows you to use Wild Roar at the beginning of the battle and refresh it at any convenient time.
- Glyph of Gust reduces the cooldown of Gust by 60 seconds and increases character mobility.
- Glyph of Rebirth: Using Rebirth brings the target back to life at full health. Bosses in raids often use AoE effects and create dangerous zones, so recently revived players often die. The symbol prevents repeated deaths and loss of Revival.
- The Alarm Roar symbol triples the range of the Alarm Roar, simplifies its use, and is recommended for use in battles where the Alarm Roar is required.
Small characters
Small glyphs for Feral make it easier to cast certain spells. We recommend that you use the following options:
- The symbol of Aquatic Form increases movement speed in Aquatic Form by 50%, making it easier to master world content.
- Glyph of Grace reduces fall damage even when you are not in Cat Form. Reduces the likelihood of death when falling from a great height; it is considered a situational symbol.
- The Stag Glyph allows a Druid in Travel Form to carry allies. Can be useful for quickly moving the entire group.
6. Rotation of the Druid "Power of the Beast" in WoW 5.5.0
Feral Druid Single Target Rotation
Make sure you and your allies are affected by Mark of the Wild, and enemies are affected by Arcane Fire.
Keep your energy level under 70, but don't use it all up in case you need to quickly replenish your combo points for Cenarius' Sleep (Predator's Swiftness activates when you spend all your combo points, but it only lasts 12 seconds and usually doesn't have enough time to accumulate new combo points).
- Use Wild Roar and refresh it in 3 seconds or less. before dissipation;
- If the energy level does not exceed 35 units, use Tiger's Fury;
- If Berserk is available and there are 15 seconds left before Tiger's Fury cooldown cooldown. or more, use basic attacks to accumulate ~90 units. energy, and use Berserk.
- Use Natural Swiftness or spend Predator's Swiftness on an instant Healing Touch to activate Cenarius' Dream for 4-5 combo points, then refresh Bleeds and use a finishing move for 5 combo points;
- Refresh Break with 5 combo points in 2 seconds or less. before dispelling, to do this, use Ferocious Bite if the target’s health level does not exceed 25%;
- Use Deep Wound and renew it in 2 seconds or less. before dissipation;
- Use Thrash and refresh it in 3 seconds or less. before dissipation, if you have Clarity of Thought;
- Use Shred (or Maim if you can't get behind the target) to build up combo points.
AoE rotation
AoE rotation is not much different from rotation for single-target combat, with the exception of targeted attacks.
- Use Wild Roar and refresh it in 3 seconds or less. before dissipation;
- If the energy level does not exceed 35 units, use Tiger's Fury;
- If Berserk is available and there are 15 seconds left before Tiger's Fury cooldown cooldown. or more, use basic attacks to accumulate ~90 units. energy, and use Berserk.
- Use Thrash and refresh it in 3 seconds or less. before dissipation;
- When fighting four or more enemies that live long enough, use Natural Swiftness or spend Predator's Swiftness on an instant Healing Touch to activate Cenarius' Dream for 4-5 combo points, then refresh Bleeds and use a finishing move for 5 combo points;
- When fighting three or fewer enemies, use Rip and refresh the effect in 3 seconds or less. before dissipation;
- When fighting four or fewer enemies, cast Deep Wound on multiple targets and refresh the effect in 2 seconds or less. before dissipation;
- Use Swipe.
7. Cooldowns and other useful abilities of the Healing Druid in WoW Pandaria Classic
The main damage cooldown, Berserk, should be used when you have a high energy level to be able to cast as many skills as possible while the effect is active.
Defensive cooldowns (Barkskin, Ursoc's Might, and Survival Instincts) are used to counteract heavy damage. In most cases, one of these cooldowns is enough, but in particularly dangerous situations the effects can be combined.
Don't forget to use the following Feral sub skills:
- Rebirth to resurrect fallen allies;
- Innervate to help allies replenish mana;
- An alarm roar to quickly move from one point to another if the combat mechanics require it;
- A frontal attack to interrupt dangerous enemy spells if allies cannot do so.
Almost all the abilities present in the spell book can be useful to you in one situation or another. Below we will briefly describe each of them.
Druid Resources in Mists of Pandaria Classic
While in Cat Form, the druid can use two types of resources: combo points and energy. Energy is automatically replenished over time and spent on abilities that generate combo points (for example, Maim).
Combo points accumulate up to 5 and are spent on particularly strong abilities (for example, Rip).
Energy-consuming abilities
The following abilities consume energy and generate combo points:
- Maim is used to accumulate combo points, and also reduces the target's movement speed by 50% due to Infected Wounds.
- Stripe is the equivalent of Maim. Deals 20% additional damage to targets with bleeds and costs 5 more energy, making it more effective. The disadvantages of this ability include the fact that it can only be used from the back.
- Deep Wound is similar to Maim, however instead of direct damage it deals damage over time and activates the bonus from Shred.
- Swings in a cone in front of the caster, causing damage to all nearby enemies. Damage is increased by 20% if the enemy is affected by the Bleeding effect.
- Thrash applies a bleeding effect to affected targets that lasts for 15 seconds. Also reduces physical damage dealt to targets by 10% for 30 sec.
- Pounce can only be used in stealth and from behind. The ability deals heavy damage and generates a combo point. The ability is usually used at the beginning of combat, as it gains 50% critical chance if the target's health level exceeds 80%.
- The pounce is used from stealth and stuns the target, but does not cause direct damage, but periodic damage. It is used at the beginning of the battle, as it has positional restrictions.
Abilities that consume combo points
The following abilities consume combo points and deal powerful damage:
- Rip is a powerful bleed effect that absorbs combo points and energy. Applies to the target, extended by a maximum of 6 seconds with Slash, Pounce, or Thrash. Use it against targets that live long enough.
- Ferocious Bite deals instant damage and absorbs 25 to 50 units of available energy. Ferocious Bite deals less damage than Rip, but has a 35% increased critical chance against targets with Bleed effects. In addition, Ferocious Bite refreshes the Rip effect on targets below 25% health.
- Cripple is similar to Rip, however it deals less damage and stuns the target.
- Wild Roar is a buff that increases physical damage dealt by Feral by 40%. The duration of the effect depends on the number of combo points spent. Maintain Wild Roar for as long as possible while rotating at the same time.
Auxiliary abilities
Some support abilities can only be used while in Cat Form.
- Berserk reduces the cost of abilities used while in Cat Form by 50%. Lasts 15 seconds, considered the main cooldown for dealing damage.
- Tiger's Fury significantly speeds up the energy replenishment process and increases damage done for 6 seconds.
- Magic fire reduces the target's armor and prevents it from being hidden. Deals low damage and has a 25% chance to reset the Mangle cooldown when cast in Bear Form.
- Prowl allows the character to become invisible. significantly reduces the druid's detection radius by enemies and gives access to some important abilities. Prowl is only used outside of combat; stealth is removed if you are attacked by an enemy or use an ability.
- A frontal attack allows you to dash towards the target and blocks the use of spells for 4 seconds. The target spends 25% more mana for 10 sec.
- Natural swiftness allows you to cast your next spell instantly. Can be used in Cat Form. When cast with Celerity, the spell restores 50% additional health or lasts 50% longer.
- Survival Instincts - protective cooldown, reduces damage taken by 50%. Duration of action - 12 seconds.
- Gust increases movement speed by 70%, eliminates immobilization and slowdown. Duration - 15 seconds, cooldown 3 minutes. Use to move quickly.
- Feline Grace passively reduces fall damage.
Abilities used in Bear Form
In Bear Form, Feral uses rage instead of mana or energy. Rage is generated by basic attacks and when receiving damage, it can be spent on using abilities.
- Ursoc's Power increases your current and maximum health by 30%, lasts 20 seconds, and automatically activates Bear Form.
- Furious Regeneration is a cooldown that turns Fury into Health.
- Bear Form turns your character into a bear with high armor and a large amount of health. This form is considered protective and is used in dangerous situations.
- The roar provokes the target. This is an important ability for a tank, use it to protect your allies.
- Maim is a basic attack with a short cooldown that generates rage.
- Maul applies a periodic damage effect (bleeding), stacks up to three times, with a 25% chance of updating the Mutilation cooldown.
- Mauling consumes rage and deals damage. Rage is usually used for defense - use Maul if your life is not in danger.
- The swing deals damage to all enemies standing in front of the druid. Damage to targets with bleeding is increased by 20%.

8. Priority of the Druid's stats "Might of the Beast" in WoW Mists of Pandaria
The stat priority for a Feral Druid is:
- Agility
- Accuracy (up to a limit of 7.5%)
- Mastery(up to a limit of 7.5%)
- Mastery
- Critical Strike
- Speed
Dexterity
Dexterity is the main characteristic that directly affects the amount of damage dealt. In Mists of Pandaria, Agility is present on all gear for specs that use Agility as a primary stat, with the exact amount depending on the item's level.
Accuracy and skill
Accuracy and skill are responsible for hitting the target with basic attacks and special attacks. Each miss reduces Feral Druid's total damage and resource efficiency.
7.5% accuracy removes the miss chance, 7.5 mastery removes the chance to dodge, 15% mastery removes the chance to parry (however, this is usually not required, since opponents cannot parry attacks directed from behind).
Mastery
Feral Mastery, Mastery: Blade Claws, increases bleed damage. Feral deals most of its damage through Bleeds, making Mastery one of the best secondary stats.
Critical Strike
Critical hits deal double damage, thereby increasing the amount of total damage, and provide additional combo points due to Primal Fury. Unfortunately, to get an additional percentage of the chance of landing critical hits, you need to gain too many stat points.
Speed rating
Speed is the worst secondary stat for Feral, but the difference to the above stats is small. Speed affects damage from basic attacks and increases the speed of energy replenishment, making the rotation more dynamic.
.

11. Leveling up Feral Druid in WoW MoP 5.5.0
"Power of the Beast" is an excellent specialization for leveling up. It allows you to deal strong explosive damage, sneak into the right places in Stealth and replenish health without resorting to consumable items. Of course, you won't be able to provoke such large groups of monsters as the Guardian, but you will deal with each individual enemy faster.
Talents for leveling up the druid "Power of the Beast"
In Mists of Pandaria, new talents are unlocked every 15 levels, starting at level 15. Below we will give recommendations on choosing talents in each tier so that you can level up your character as quickly and easily as possible.
Level 15 Talents
This case contains talents for fast movement.
- Cat speed gives a direct increase in movement speed (+15%) and works well when leveling up.
- Astral Surge moves the character 20m forward, similar to Flash, and automatically casts Cat Form. It has a long cooldown, but can save your life in a critical situation (for example, if you are surrounded by monsters).
- Swift Charge grants the ability of the same name with a cooldown of 15 seconds. Moves the character behind the target, which is very convenient for Shredding. With the help of Swift Charge it is convenient to enter into battle, but retreating is problematic.
Level 30 Talents
This tier contains talents for self-healing and counteracting constant damage. All of them can be useful when leveling up.
- Ysera's Gift restores 5% of your maximum health every 5 seconds. If the druid is healthy, the effect triggers on the nearest wounded ally. A good passive effect for those who want to reduce the number of buttons on the panel.
Can be used once every 30 seconds. An excellent talent for solo play if used on cooldown. In dungeons, you can use it to heal a tank.
Level 45 Talents
This tier contains talents designed to control opponents. All of them are situational, but can slightly increase the speed of pumping Feral Druid.
The druid's unique talent when leveling up is usually used for retreat.
- Typhoon knocks back enemies in front of the caster and slows them down for 6 seconds. Can be used once every 30 seconds. The knockback interrupts enemy spells, but allies should be warned about it in advance, otherwise the group will lose some damage.
Level 60 Talents
Talents in this tier increase damage dealt with additional energy.
- The Soul of the Forest works passively and replenishes energy when using finishing techniques. Considered the best option in the vast majority of cases.
- Incarnation allows you to use Prowl and skills that require Stealth (such as Pounce) without costing resources for 30 seconds every 3 minutes. When leveling up, it is inferior to alternative options, since battles do not last long.
- Force of Nature has three charges, each of which recharges over 20 seconds. Summons an Ancient ally that deals damage and roots enemies in place for 15 seconds. Used to deal explosive damage, on average slightly inferior to Soul of the Forest.
Situational skill when playing alone in dungeons is inferior to alternative options.
Symbols
In the Mists of Pandaria expansion, symbols do not play a significant role; they only slightly speed up leveling. Below we list some useful options.
Large characters
Not all of the listed symbols affect damage, but we recommend using them for convenience.
- Glyph of Ferocity - Wild Roar can be used without combo points, in which case it lasts 12 seconds. This symbol allows you to start each battle with a Wild Roar; this effect is of great benefit when leveling up.
- The symbol of the prowling beast removes the penalty to movement speed in the prowling beast and significantly speeds up movement in the open world.

- Glyph of Cat Form increases healing received while in Cat Form by 20%. Helps maintain high health, especially when combined with instants from Predator's Swiftness and Glyph of Ferocious Bite.
- Glyph of Gust reduces the cooldown of Gust by 60 seconds and increases character mobility.
- Glyph of Rebirth, when used by Rebirth, returns the target to life at full health, making it easier for them to continue surviving.
- The Alarm Roar symbol triples the range of the Alarm Roar, simplifies its use, and is recommended for use in battles where the Alarm Roar is required.
Small characters

- The symbol of Aquatic Form increases movement speed in Aquatic Form by 50%, making it easier to master world content.
- Glyph of Grace reduces fall damage even when you are not in Cat Form. Reduces the likelihood of death when falling from a great height; it is considered a situational symbol.
- The Stag Glyph allows a Druid in Travel Form to carry allies. Can be useful for quickly moving the entire group.
